I picked Honus Wagner. Ernie banks and Cal Ripken are a close second.
Why isn't Derek Jeter, or A-Rod on the list?

I went for Brooks Robinson, but Mike Schmidt is a close 2nd.

I agree that Gehrig was better than Greenberg - Greenberg worshipped him. But I just think Greenberg deserves more credos

A real toughie. Its between Jimmie Foxx and Lou Gehrig, but I picked Hank Greenberg for sentimental reasons. He's the 2nd greatest Jewish athlete of all time.

The new season is finally gonna get underway tonight.
Is it just me, or does everyone else just sorta try and get into basketball, or whatever other sport in order to make up for the hole that an absence of baseball leaves?
I love waking up and checking out the box scores on the Internet (remember I live in Israel, so the games are played while I sleep).
I love watching the condensed game replay on mlb.tv (just paid my $100 subscription for the year).
I love Sundays when the Yanks usually have a day game that I can watch live at a reasonable time.
Fuck the NBA. I love THIS game!!!!

Nice!
And I agree with the sentiment. It is absolutely the most poetic of sports.

To talk about Yankees & Red Sox rivalry is almost boring. Its one of the most basic elements to being a yanks or sox fan. Now I know that this might seem a weird thing to say, but thats exactly what makes it the greatest rivalry in sports. Nothing comes close, except perhaps Dodgers/Giants.

I'm not too keen on the music you have for the main site. It slows up the loading of the site terribly.
