Bobby Bonds...Played 14 yrears in the majors. ( 1968-81 ). First seven with the S.F. Giants. After that he played for the Yanks, Angels, Rangers, Indians, Cards and Cubs.
For the 1979 Tribe he hit 25 HR, 85 RBI's and stole 34 bases while batting .275. It was his last productive season.
He topped 30 HR's and 30 SB's in a season mark in 1969, 75 and 77. He ended his career with 332 homers, 1,024 RBI's and 461 SB's.

Andre Thornton...A slugging first baseman for the Indians from 1977 to 87. In his 14 major league seasons he had 253 home runs.

Mike Garcia, " The Big Bear ". Part of the Indians " Big Four " starting pitching staff that included Hall Of Famers Bob Feller, Bob Lemon and Early Wynn. They led the Indians to the 1954 AL pennant. Garcia was 19-8 that season.
Garcia was a two time twenty game winner and finished his career with 142 victories.

Hoyt Wilhelm...Probably the first premier relief pitcher I remember. A knuckleball specialist.

Willie Horton was a real good hitter. Major part of that great 1968 championship team.

Chuck Essegian...Helped the Dodgers win the 1959 World Series against the Chicago " Go Go " Sox. In 1962 he hit 21 HR's while playing for the Indians. Went to the Athletics in 1963, his final season. Played a total of six years in the big leagues.

Rico Petrocelli...One of my favorites when I was growing up. Broke in with the Boston Red Sox Played one game in 1963. Worked his way into the line up in 1964. Hit 40 HR's in 1969. He drove in 103 in 1970. Played through the 1976 season. Spent whole career with Red Sox. Played SS and 3B. He played two games at 1B during his career. Lifetime stats...210 HR's, 773 RBI's and a .251 average.

Lou Johnson..." Sweet Lou " had some key hits in the 1965 World Series that helped the Dodgers beat the Twins.

Stan " The Man " Musial ;
3630 hits, 475 home runs, 1951 RBI's and a lifetime .331 batting average. One of the games all time greats. Stan retired after the 1963 season so I just caught the tail end of his career. In 1962, his 21st season he hit .330.

What a great, great pitcher Gibson was. The NL had some really premier pitchers in the 60's like Gibson, Koufax, Drysdale, Marichal, Bunning, Jim Maloney...
Gene Tenace...Was once a World Series MVP with the Oakland A's.

Jack Morris...One of the most under rated pitchers of his era. Great under pressure and a worthy Hall Of Fame candidate.

Mickey Lolich...Although Denny McLain won 31 games in 1968 it was Lolich who was the hero of the Tigers World Series win over the Cardinals.

Sonny Siebert...fine pitcher for the Indians in the 60's.
