Cubs hire Pinella and the most common thought is that Girardi will take the Nats job. Pretty good fit for both, even though I thought that they would be switched.

Macha is gone. Apparently several players went to the front office to complain.

cheap, cheap, cheap. not committed to putting a winning team on field. NATS are wishing for a good team, instead of building one

Seems they are destined for a rookie manager.
Some names I've heard being tossed as possible rookie managers beeing looked at (not specifically by the Nats, but in general) Luis Sojo, Jose Oquendo (though a team would have to wait until after the WS), Ron Washington (seems to be top on the A's list)

Girardi also reported to not take a manager job electing to do TV instead. Interesting gamble. He may not have liked any of the situations presently available, and may be hoping for something to open up next year. Not sure where he thinks that he has a chance to go, but falling back on TV isn't all that bad. Keep in mind, if the MArlins fall on thier faces, his stock will rise.

I have nothing against the marlins, but I kind of hope they do.
I think Girardi got a really raw deal with the Marlins and I think the management there is a joke. I hope they lose 100 games next year so they realize how good of a job he really did.

Ron Washington is now the new Rangers manager. I wonder if the Schowalter firing was so they could snatch him from Oakland. The main concensis was that he would be the A's manager after they let Macha go.

....also, who saw Boche jumping to the Giants? 20+ years with SD, and he goes to a rival? Strange.
