With the recent firings/releasing of MLB managers, and possible more to come, where do you think they end up? Who do you think is next in line to be fired? Who is the next "new" manager?
Frank Robinson, Felipe Alou, and Dusty Baker are gone. Joe Girardi is about to go. I wouldn't be suprised if the Red Sox let Francona go, though I don't think he should go. The Sox ownership has gotten rid of a few managers before for less. I think he's underapreciated in Boston.
I think Girardi ends up in Chicago. He has alot of ties to the Cubs organization, and insiders at the Tribune are saying they want him there.
I think Baker lands on his feet. He's not a bad manager, he just needs a good pitching coach to take over that whole aspect. He has no clue how to run a pitching staff.
Alou may be done. He's a bit long in the tooth.
Lou Pinella's name has been surfacing as a replacement in SF. Just rumors at the moment.
I think Jose Oquendo should get a decent look as a big league manager.
Terry Pendleton is another with alot of buzz surrounding him. Billy Doran ? Jose Cruz? Mickey Hatcher?
Do Tony Pena, Larry Bowa, and Lee Mazzilli get another shot? Don Baylor? Bucky Dent ? or maybe Pat Corrales gets another shot?

I think Alou is done, he's getting up there in years. What do you see happening to Robinson? Do you think he's done or will he catch on somewhere?
I see Girardi either to the Cubs or Giants. Dusty to the Nats.

It wasn't fracona's fault. Too many injuries, lots of guys having off years. They should give him a few years if only because he won them a world series. Of course, most boston fans will never be happy.

. What do you see happening to Robinson? Do you think he's done or will he catch on somewhere? . I don't see him managing, but more in a upper management position somewhere like a President of baseball operations type of thing.. Perhaps he'll go back to working for Selig. Maybe replace Selig someday???

Well the Marlins appointed Atlanta 3rd base coach Fredi Gonzalez. Not to familiar with him, but I don't see him having a long shelf life in florida either giving the front office's committment to winning.

Pinella has said he would consider offers from the Giants, Rangers, Cubs, and Nationals. I think his best fit is in Wahington, but the Giants could use a little fire under thier asses too.

Wow. I stand corrected then. I still think that team is his best fit. Young and athletic in need of motivation. Though, the article does reiterate the original Giants rumor.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out.....
...Pinella pulls his name out of the Giants managerial contention. FSR reported it this afternoon. He said that he was reminded of one of the reasons that he left the Mariners.
Long cross-country flights.
Reportedly, he came to this decision while flying home (he lives in Tampa, FL) from covering the A's-Tigers game.
