On 8-6-06, the Iowa Cubs had a Cub Scout day for all of the area Cub Scouts. As some of you know, I'm my son's den leader. I took both of my boys (my other son is in the same pack, but in a lower den) Alex is a wolf cub, and Drew is a Tiger Cub. Before the game, they got to parade on the field as thier names were announced. The I-Cubs beat the Omaha Royals 10 - 5, and after the game we all lined up to get comemorative balls with the I-Cubs logo on one side and a logo commerating the day on the other. We then went onto the field via the centerfield scoreboard for player autographs. There was tours of the locker room and press boxes, a baseball toss, frisbee toss (Drew won a pack of baseball cards), sprint races, and other activities on the field. We all went back into the stands and had pizza and bomb-pops. Then the kids were allowed to play in the outfield. The we were sent out to our cars to get our tens and sleeping bags to set up for the night. We camped out on the outfield grass, and they showed "National Treasure" in the Diamond Vision. before lights out at about midnight. They woke us up at about 5AM, and everyone was off of the field by 6AM. Needless to say we got very little sleep, and ended up crashing on the couch as soon as we got home.
