my three year old son is sitting on my lap right now while I check the forum. I was reading a thread and Jim's Yankee banner was on the screen as I was reading. He said he want's to see the stadium pictured in it. It is sad that he is to young to understand an appreciate the history of it IF I was able to show it to him. Anoter piece of history that will be a sky scraper no doubt.

I know what you mean, Philly. Over here in England, many of the classic old stadia have gone now, replaced by more comfortable modern ones, with better views, more comfortable seats, and little atmosphere. Maybe that'll come as they age, but it's still a different experience to see a game now than it was 20 years ago. In our case the changes were inspired partly for crowd control reasons, partly for safety, and partly for making more money. It's understandable - but still a shame that the Baseball Ground is now a housing estate, and Anfield will one day be a supermarket. I hope Servo is right, and if commerce allows the possibility, that they can leave Yankee Stadium as a museum and memorial.

Well the 2008 AllStar game will be played there. So it will be up at least through 2008.
