Well you may have heard MLB just signed a HUGE 700 mil deal to exclusively offer Extra Innings on Direct TV. This troubles me.
1. I hate directTV as does most of American as statistics show. 2. Extra Innings is one of the greatest inventions known to mankind. A but pricey but sooo nice to sit down after work on a Tuesday in August and watch a random Mariners game. 3. The "alternative" is is MLBtv on the internet which lacks significantly in quality and reliability.
Apparently I'm not alone in this. ESPN writer Jim Caple said he has gotten more mails on this than any other issue.
Thoughts?

I'm looking into XM. I can listen to a game and enjoy it just as much as watching one. Last year I got the MLB radio package on mlb.com. You can listen to any game on the net. If I end up getting a laptop, I'll just do that, if not, it's XM.

I got XM about a year ago. And let me tell you, best investment I ever made. 1. Every single baseball game on the radio. 2. A channel devoted completely to baseball talk. 3. Every single type of music channel imaginable.
I originally bought it purely for baseball, but I probably listen to the music stations more than baseball.
Absolutely a solid investment.

Yeah, XM is great. Kid shoved a handful of change in the tape deck though, so I have to order the kit for a roady.
As for the purpose of this thread, I don't really know if I know Extra Innings.

It's MLB's version of sunday ticket or whatever all the other sports call theres. Basically you get feeds of all the local game broadcasts. So basically you get every game of the season for I think 180 bucks.
