Looking at many of the players that have been coming from the Far East, I'm beginning to think that the MLB talent pool is about to get pretty full. The Indians aquired a young RF from from the Mariners named Choo. He' spretty goo, from what I saw of him in the series agaist the Sox. He's got an amazing arm and had good power potential. I have to think that there are many more just as telented as he is from Korea and other Asian countries. The Mariners have Jojhima (sp?) who burst onto the scene with almost no fanfare, and is a solid catcher. They have had major sucess in the past with Ichiro and Sasaki. Not to mention the sucess of Hideki Matsui in New York. The argument in the past has been that it's hard to judge the talent there because the stats don't translate (no pun intended) to MLB standards. Bobby Valentine (who managed in Japan for a few years) has been clamoring for the Japanese players, and telling MLB that the talent there is just as deep as the Latin countries, and should be scouted. I think that the rosters will look very different in five years.

If you think about it, the last five years have seen a serious change in the way rosters look too. 10 years ago, it was all the North American stars that were the craze. The last few years, Central and South America have owned the headlines. I think it's just a rapidly paced evolution of the game. Before long, we will be in Africa's talent pool... Now at the plate, from Kuji, Nambia... Hell, they will probably shatter Hendersons record
