Nice series A-Rod, Giambi, and Sheffield. Could you have possibly stranded more runners? Jeter was on base over 50% of the time, but you couldn't drive him in?
Expect a completely different Yankee team next season. Dump these overpaid losers who have no idea of how to hit in the clutch, Keep Abreu and develop Cabrerra and Cano. They're our future as well as our present. Use George's money for some reliable pitching (Zito will be available).

Sports center tonight says Torre will get fired and replaced with Piniella. Thoughts?

Torre is definately a goner. I'd prefer Girardi over Piniela though.
A-Rod, Giambi and Sheffield have to be history too. Move Matsui to DH and develop Andy Phillips at 1B.

I wouldn't mind Pinella. I liked him as a player and when he managed them the first time. He never got a chance to put his team on the field. He might be exactly what the the team needs....a swift kick in the ass. He doesn't back down from anyone (just ask Rob Dibble) and not afraid to tell the media just what they should do with themselves.
Girardi would be a pretty good fit, but I think the Cubs have the inside track on him, and I'm not sure George will want to take a chance on a guy with only one year of experience.

I want to trade A-Rod and Giambi to the Cardinals for Pujols (if they don't accept it maybe the Yankees could eat some of their salary). Then sign Soriano again and play him at 2nd and move Cano to 3rd (his original position in AAA). Then drop Mussina, Sheffield, and Wright, Johnson will probably retire, play Melky in left, DH Matsui, and finally pick up Zito and Jason Schmidt. I doubt it will all happen but it could. The least likely of them all is trading A-Rod and Giambi for Pujols.

Yeah Cards won't get rid of Pujols for anything. Well maybe not for ANYTHING but he's so valuable to their franchise.

There's no way Pujols is going anywhere. Period. So you can forget that dream.
A-Rod has some extra value next season since he's chasing 500. I could imagine him going to a non-contender. I think his ego has also taken enough of a hit that he would go for it. Better to be the king of Colorado than the clown of New York. Its sad actually, because I think he's one of the all time greats. If he goes to somewhere like Colorado (I don't know if thats even possible, I'm just giving it as an example) he could quietly chase Bonds/Aaron for the next few years. He would bring the crowds back and put up MVP like numbers every year without the pressure.

I've heard rumors of A-Rod and minor leaguer to Houston for Oswalt and Lidge. Sounds interesting and good for both teams, but only in rumor stage as of now.
Sheff is running his mouth and throwing Torre under the bus. Jeter and Rivera (two of the most respected polayers on the team) have already come to the defense of Torre, so if Torre stays expect Sheff to go.
This is scarily looking like the soap operas of the late '80s.(overpaid free agents, bad trades involving prospects, media in-house fighting) God I hope it doesn't go that route.

This is what I want next year to be the starting line up by positions and pitching rotation.
C - Jorge Posada 1B - Maybe Giambi or Andy Phillips 2B - Alfonso Soriano SS - Derek Jeter 3B - Robinson Cano LF - Melky Cabrera CF - Johnny Damon RF - Bobby Abreu DH - Hideki Matsui
Rotation 1 - Barry Zito 2 - Roy Oswalt (acquire him in a trade for A-Rod) 3 - Chien-Ming Wang 4 - Jason Schmidt 5 - Carl Pavano (if he's healthy)

You know when you first get a baseball video game, and you stack your team with all the all-stars...
You've got to admit that the fact that the Yankees can even consider moves like these is digusting.

Announced today. You know George got phone calls from Jeter, Cashman, Rivera, and Bernie asking him to keep Joe on. Those are probably the best endorsements a manager can get.
