I'm assuming #1 is baseball specific? And is it for all leagues? Say someone in the NL had more votes than anyone else in the NL but someone in the AL had more, would that count?

No. Most votes ahead of all players.

www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Pud_GalvinBut after checking a couple of other reputable sources, there seems to be a discrepency. I'll go ahead and credit basenoc since his was the only other one that would be close to the first other than the Galvin game. 'Stros, if you still have the link to your info, I'll check it out. I deleted your original PM.

Nobody who played in the game or saw it played is still alive, and record keeping was suspect back then at best.

www.baseball-almanac.com/boxscore/04081994.shtmllooking at it a second time I think that he was the first in braves history, the wording confused me. "On April 8, 1994, Kent Mercker became the second Atlanta Brave pitcher to throw a complete no-hit game and the first to hurl a gem on the road."

Okay. I was curious where it would say that Merker was the first, but it makes sense him being the first Atlanta Brave.

I will update a little later than I had anticipated. I'm off to visit my mother, so I'll be updating around midnight, maybe sooner.
