Umis pretty much nailed this one.

I think Lackey deserves it. He's got the lowest ERA and shutouts in the AL and is the ace and anchor of a reliable Angels rotation. This has been a breakout year for him. Let's not forget Santana isn't the same pitcher this year as he has been in years past.

I'll take Holliday whose stock has risen tremendously the last two weeks. Without him, the Rockies are watching the playoffs on the tube, with him they spark a rally and get into a one-game playoff with the Padres. Rollins is diminished in valuability due to having Utley and Howard in the same lineup.

Filthy/nasty- Usually used to describe breaking balls either the miss gives up way too early on and catches the strike zone or the fall completely out of the strike zone causing the batter to swing and miss

They've been on cruise control since the All-Star Break really, they struggled letting the Yankees get to within 2 games of them. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say a letdown is possible.

I dunno about this one. On one hand the Angels have been rotten in Boston this season, but on the other hand Boston's due for a letdown this season. I'll take the Sox in 5.

I reckon these will be pretty low scoring games for the most part. I think the Yanks get the better of Sabathia and Carmona and pull it out.

I think the D-Backs are better than most people think they are. They will rough up Zambrano and pull ahead early and win the series.

I know the Rockies are hot and all but I see the Phillies pulling this out in 5. Of course, I'm sure everyone will laugh at this if they get swept in 3 games which wouldn't surprise me either.

To het him away from the Red Sox and to shore up the staff? Yes. Better hope he doesn't get injured like the rest of the Yankees pitchers...

Not sure if I'm late but I'll give it a go if you can use someone else.
