Nolan Ryan steamrolled the record books in 1973, amassing 383 strikeouts for the season, a major league record that remains today. Ryan wore these spikes on September 27, when he fanned 16 Twins in an 11-inning game to surpass the previous single-season best, by Sandy Koufax Pros today would never let their cleats get that old. boy!, look at the condition of the them fields, you had to be a great fielder to pick on that surface. i might even believe a average fielder then might be a gold glover today. ain't nothing like the old ballparks too watch a game, i mean nothing. thanks nyjyrk for pics, it reminds me of going to Connie Mack way back when. also hitching a ride on back of the buses too. ;D

how is the vote conducted, do they have to vote for 1 or is it as many votes as you see players that deserve admission. because to me, there are certain levels of stats a player can reach, that i would say your in. i.e.500 homers, .330 lifetime avg. for 15yrs., 300 wins etc...

they can't be serious. Who's voting, his mom? i think there's to many voters and too many that are sports writers and not Baseball writers.
300 good baseball men should have the vote. 75%> of the votes needed, 225 or so. if Sutter got in, then no way should they keep Goosage out among others.
