Cobb, DiMaggio, Mays, Mantle were the top choices. I went with Mays. Speaker and Snider are right below the other four.

This is a real toughie. Mays, Mantle, Cobb and DiMaggio?
I picked Mantle, but Mays could just as easily be the best ever. DiMaggio is great in other aspects. Cobb was possibly even better, but his personality loses marks.

Who voted for Jim Edmonds? Are you taking this seriously?
Very tough. I'm going with Mays though, he had the total package.

I was torn four ways here. I had Mantle, Mays, Cobb, and Speaker.
I almost went with Speaker, but the only reason would have been the stories of his stellar defence. It's hard to judge aplayers defence by stories alone.
Cobb was the most dominant player of his era until Ruth came along.
Mantle and Mays played at the same time (both had thier rookie years in 1951), and both were the definition of the 5-tool player. If it were stats alone, I would have said Mays. I went with Mantle because of the fact that had he not torn up every joint in his body season after season, his stats would drawf Mays'. Mays also hung around a few years too many, tarnishing his legacy. Was it to pad stats? Most likely not.

Jyrk, Mantle aslo had aclohol problems with him. His knee was bum for his whole career. In my mind, he never even fulfilled his potential.

DiMaggio, Cobb, and Duke Snider don't have any votes, yet Jim Edmonds does...

Best, no favorite. Wynn wasn't even the best all-time CF for the Astros.
