Answer #14Germany Schaefer was the one I was looking for, though I have heard (recently) that Frank Tenney and Harry Davis had also pulled this off. Though it's against the rules now, Schaefer was on first base and Sam Crawford was on third when they were given a double steal sign. Schaefer took off for second yelling and screaming all the way, but the catcher held the ball. Determined to have crawford steal home, he took off for first on the next pitch, making all kinds of noise again. Nobody knew what to do. Everyone just stood there. On the next pitch, he took off for second, this time the catcher tried to throw him out. Crawford stole home. One of my favorite baseball stories. You can read about this and other great old-time baseball stories in - www.amazon.com/gp/product/0688112730/sr=8-1/qid=1154318762/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-1784585-6940862?ie=UTF8StandingsEric - *38 points bawbag33 - *36 points Strofan - *32 point Rzobb - *27 points Basenoc - *22 points Ballis - *7points smg - *5 points Very close race Question #152 pointsWho was the last player to officially be a player/manager?

[glow=red,2,300] Final Answer [/glow] Mariano Rivera Bonus- October 27th, 1999 (I would have also accepted October 26th since there was no discerning between the two) The three things that should have been clues were- 1- The #5 on the sleeve for Joe DiMaggio's death. That would give you 1999. 2- The World Series patch on his cap. 3- The home pinstripes. That narrows it down to the only two home games the Yankees had in the series. [glow=red,2,300] Final Standings[/glow] [glow=teal,2,300]Eric - * 54 points[/glow] Strofan - *48 point (I didn't give you credit for the bonus because you only gave me the year.}bawbag33 - *46 points Rzobb - *29 points Basenoc - *24 points Ballis - *7points smg - *5 points Congrats Eric on your win. Your TrophyThanx to all who participated. The new season will begin in a few days.
