msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7365076I had no idea that Mitchell was on the Red Sox board of directors. The discussion I heard on the radio this morning got even deeper. No Red Sox player has ever been mentioned in any of Sen. Mitchell's findings, despite allegations from other sources. Coverup?

Wow. I had no idea ever. And that is very sketchy. I don't know how anyone could allow him to spearhead this committee given the huge conflict of interest. It also says he's the chairman of Disney who obviously has a huge commercial interest in MLB.
At this point I don't think names are the most important thing. They can't be punished, other than with public opinion and other than an interest in who was doing what, there isn't any real reason to know who may have juiced in the past. What's more important is to know the general scope of the problem and how best to prevent it in the future.

I think that this will further darken the legacy of Bug Selig. He will definately be known as the commish who was in office during the steroid era, and dealt with it with smoke and mirrors.
Frank Robinson for Commish.
